Let us start by saying thank you for coming to read about our project. Nightmare Realm began it creation back in October 2021 from the minds of fully doxed founders Mayaguy and Wildman.
Nightmare Realm is an Art focused NFT project with community and mental wellbeing as its two core values. First and foremost, we wanted to create art work that was unique and more than worth the mint price on its own merits. The PFP Genesis is the initial drop of the series and differs from other PFP’s with its dual action metrics. It consists of 2 modes which will alternate automatically every 12 hours giving you 2 PFPs for the price of one. The first mode is the Day Mode which is the characters standard form in the real world, whilst the Nightmare Mode is your physical representation in the Nightmare Realm itself.
With this being the genesis item there will be a number of future drops in the collection and only the genesis holders will have free access to these drops. We aim to be the number one Horror NFT Brand and want to give our community access to high quality art to match the narrative which will unfold as the story progresses.
Story
Our genesis PFPs begin the story by introducing us to ‘The Few’. A select number of people who have been chosen by the ancient and evil entity known as ‘The Darkness’. For Centuries ‘The Darkness’ has been dormant as its minions have kept watch over humanity. Mankind is failing, war, famine, hate, selfishness and evil has woken ‘The Darkness’ as it senses its time to rule may be near. It needs to feed… Its minions have branded its prey and as they sleep, they are transported into the Nightmare Realm where they have to battle for their very souls!
Behind The Story
Firstly, we want to take the community down the traditional Horror route with the chosen ones and the evil entities. We want this to be fun and exciting as well as creating a story people can get behind and get involved with. We want the community to help with Lore building and creating an actual experience where we make decisions together on the path the story will take. On a serious side we also wish to create extra awareness on Mental Health issues. The collection will have certain traits within it that have a Horror element but also a deeper meaning behind it. Our ‘Few’ will have to battle demons and find a way out of the grip of ‘The Darkness’ and we wish to try and create positivity and Light at the end of the journey.
Charity
After we have minted, we will be donating a large sum from the mint fund to help a mental health charity. We will vote on this as a community and proof will be posted after this has been donated. Moving forward we would like to continue doing this and hope to find a long-term charity partner to continue to support.
Art and Artists
We also aim to support artists within web3. After our initial series of collections have been minted, we would like to be in a position where we can bring other artists into our ecosystem, to help and give them the tools they need to create their own projects or ones that can be bridged to our own universe. We will be having an ‘Artists Corner’ in our discord for artists to connect. Our founder, and artist, Mayaguy will be a prominent figure in this channel.
Metaverse
We will be having a presence in the Metaverse by purchasing some Metaverse land and having the Nightmare Realm professionally built. We are currently discussing with the World builders about creating various games within our Realm for our community to enjoy and have fun.
Founders and Team
Founder — Phil Radford AKA MayaGuy
Phil started his career working in a factory. Born in the late 70s and growing up in the 90’s it is somewhat of a blur of trouble and too much partying.
After some difficult mental health issues and eventually finding what his ultimate path should be, he completely changed his direction in life, managing to move into the world of 3d and visual effects using all and any money he had to put himself through London’s prestigious ‘Escape Studios’ visual effects training school.
From here he worked in video games for a short period as a 3d modeller in a small team for Atari’s ‘Tycoon City New York’ where he is credited as 3d artist.
In terms of credentials, he has many, going on to work 4 contracts at BBC television centre before being permanently employed by BBC.
While working at BBC he was part of a BAFTA award winning team, had his work nominated for BDA awards and played a large role in rebranding the triple channel news station ‘BBC News’ creating the title sequence for BBC News at Ten, BBC World News and The World Today in 2007. In his time at the BBC he worked on creating 3d animations for documentaries and too many title sequences to list before leaving to set up his own 3d and visual FX company.
He has worked with well-known brands worldwide including Google, Virgin Atlantic, Autodesk, BBC, Honda, Volvo, TopGear, Boux Avenue, Baylis & Harding, Virgin Sport, Virgin News and many more .
Crypto art piqued his interest in early 2020 and ,after years of working for other people, it was time to get back to those weird and wonderful creations he used to scribble and combine with his professional 3d and vfx knowledge.
In his professional career he has been sponsored by, and worked with, Autodesk and given talks at the FMX conference for the software ‘Maya’ due to his exploration into Bifrost, a procedural and simulation software within Maya . He owns an educational YouTube channel called MayaGuy that teaches 3d (maya). He does this for free, to help others and for the love of 3d and visual fx but it led to greater things.
Having been in crypto art since January 2020 he started by selling art and animation on Foundation before being quickly accepted as an artist on SuperRare. He explores profound and abstract ways of creating art and found a niche style that he enjoys of gritty and sometimes uncomfortable black and white abstract art.
‘I am an inquisitive creator of profound and emotive digital art using technical simulation techniques.’
Using black and white tones to convey grit and drama, pulling from past experiences in both mental health and earlier experiences which are still quite visceral as memories.
His work always incorporates darkness and light in a photographic style which he feels could be looked at as classic and will hopefully stand the test of time. He has very real dreams. Mostly unsettling and often seeing images that he draws inspiration from directly “

Founder — Jay Wilbrey AKA Wildman
Jay left school after finishing his A-Levels and went straight into a sales role. His career has been in Sales and Marketing since that day and has amassed over 27 years of experience in the field.
He has been in high level management roles and excels in business growth and organizational planning.
Jay found his way into crypto in 2020 and feels like he has found his spiritual home. He enjoys the community aspects and the creativity that is prevalent in the space.
Jay is an artist by nature without the physical skills to create art himself, he is a visionary and problem solver with the ability to think outside the box.
He is a family man with a love of sports and animals. A keen supporter of mental health and has hopes that web 3 can make the world a better place.
He is dedicated and committed with a huge desire to deliver the best possible product to his community.
Community Manager — @HanFomo
Our Community Manager, Hanfomo, entered the Web3 space as a cryptocurrency investor 4 years ago. Like many blockchain enthusiasts, he has since transitioned into NFTs and now works fulltime as a Community and Project Manager. With a number of projects under his belt, he has now chosen to direct his focus onto The Nightmare Realm due to its dark inspired themes, which aligns with his own personal interests. Having crossed paths with The Nightmare Realm founders ‘Wildman’ and ‘Maya’ in a previous NFT project which minted at the start of the year, it became apparent that they shared both professional and personal values for community. After some discussion surrounding the project, it was decided Hanfomo would join the team to demonstrate his skills as Community Manager.
Dev Team
We have on board a very well-respected Dev team, FFK Labs including FrankNFT.eth, FCCview.eth and KRD_official_. They have worked on a number of well-established projects and bring a wealth of experience and peace of mind to our community.
The Future
We plan on minting in the middle of July and will have an affordable mint price yet to be released. Being low cost will give most people an easy access point to our ecosystem and great value with all the future mints being free to genesis holders. We have many other routes we will go down with the Horror theme and we are only limited by our own imagination, we will continue to build and will release more information on this further down the line.
