1. Introduction

Kindergarten BabyApes (KBA) is an ape derivative PFP post-mint project that sold its initial collection December 31 2021 in 8 hours with the core goal of raising funds to build schools for less fortunate children around the world. To date, over $70,200 has been raised and committed to our charity partner buildOn, so we decided to build 2 schools instead of one.

KBA is also well-known for its strong, tight-knit community, with 25,000 strong on Discord, and over 12,000 on Twitter. Both Founders are doxxed, and the project has a dedicated marketing team that handles collaborations and outreach as well as an internal Ambassador program and a loose Marketing DAO that allows the streamlined curation and implementation of ideas.

The Problem

Cutting through the noise in the NFT world is a difficult if not impossible task. It’s also a space filled with rug-pulls, scammers and people driven by greed. Many projects we feel do not successfully carry a project forward past mint — and indeed it is a difficult goal to achieve — much less create a platform that really, truly, helps other people.

Education in the NFT space is one thing, but the humble beginnings of our project were founded in providing hard-to-find education for children who don’t have that option available to them.

Lastly, many projects start as opportunities for a quick fund-raise and ultimately end up only executing on a small portion of their initial goals, or not at all. This mentality has become a problem in the NFT space, especially when it converges with individuals who are new to the space.

The Solution

KBA is fortunate enough to be in a privileged position to help others through the use of its NFT token, and while our two schools are close to being started, we’re already looking to raise enough to build another five this year through our second planned collection. Why? We believe that every human is deserving of a basic education, no matter your colour, race, religion, or socioeconomic background.

We want to do our part to help provide that much-needed education to anyone who requires it. Our goal is to organise and mobilise our community to be part of the solution, not part of the problem, and we’re so proud of all our members who initially voted for where the two first schools would be built in Nicaragua and Guatemala — empowering our community to help with these decisions and be part of our future, and the future of those who are less fortunate or able to change their situation, is absolutely critical to our next steps.

2. Benefits & Utility

As part of the solution, we want to share a little more about some of the standout benefits and utilities of being part of the KBA family. There’s a lot in the pipeline, and we’re excited to deliver everything as a complete, value-stuffed package for the entire community and beyond.

Our Second Collection — KIBS

We’re excited to share more information about our second upcoming collection which will be an evolution of our current collection adding new value and utility to the project as a whole.

KIBS is planned to launch at the end of Q2 2022, and with that comes an array of 10 childish fantasy characters with a huge variety of traits to challenge even your wildest dreams (or those of children).

We’ve decided that while KIBS will be a separate collection, there were some decisions we needed to make about how to launch, where to house the project, and how to promote it in the run-up to mint. As such, we decided that KIBS and KBA will be deeply integrated, and both will call the current Discord their home. KIBS will however have its own Twitter to ensure a clean separation in the marketing of two projects which are at different stages of their life — this will also allow KIBS to flourish in its own clean air.

We’re also excited to share that we will be working with the incredibly talented “Has Nizzie” (@itsjie__) for our second collection. Here’s a sample of some of his previous work inspired by our first collection:

KBA TOKEN — $LUNCH

We’re exploring the possibilities to develop a token called “Lunch Money — $LUNCH” which will have utility against both of our collections. The concept is that by staking your KBA, or KIBS, you’ll earn $LUNCH, which can be spent on whitelist spots, exclusive giveaways, merchandise and much more within the project.

Metaverse

As owners of Plot (120, -93) on Sandbox we have ambitious plans to roll out a variety of events, activities, and educational concepts for our holder to constitute an ecosystem for the community.

Our goal is to always reward and give back to our community, and with the metaverse we have the chance to give an exclusive experience to KBA holders. Our vision is to create a space where our holders get to share, play, earn, and hang out together in the metaverse with their friends. We will be creating unique Sandbox voxels to match our KBAs, and players can choose to play as their favourite characters.

Additionally, as an education-driven project, we believe that the metaverse serves as the perfect location for us to teach newcomers about NFTs and good practices, safety, as well as investment strategies and assistance — we’ll do this, ideally, through a comprehensive teach and student system.

Metaverse is the future, and we believe that in the future zoom meetings, school classes, doctor appointments, watching movies, playing with friends and many more will occur in the metaverse, and for that reason we want to really focus on being visionaries of the future.

Field Trip

We plan to arrange for some of our lucky holders to participate in the construction of the schools we fund from the new collection. With the Covid pandemic and travel restricted for many, this is something we’ve parked until late 2022, but we intend to send up to 15 people to travel (together) to one of the schools that is constructed as a way of volunteering with and supporting the local community.

Community

KBA is proud of its strong community, and our holders are the glue that holds our project together. Together, the community has achieved great things before — and now after — the mint of our first collection, ensuring that we have productive forward momentum. We’re proud to host regular events, fruitful discussions, a weekly AMA, as well as providing a loose community approval DAO for new community suggestions and marketing efforts.

Our future relies on the community being as supportive as it has been, and we are excited to build our second collection around this incredibly valuable utility that has been nurtured over time with the passion, hard-work, and investment of our members.

Alpha Group

We’re fortunate to have a handful of devoted whales at KBA, with some owning as many as 80 or 30, as well as other investors among us who keep their finger on the pulse. We’ve created a unique Alpha Group for holders which disseminates this information to the community.

NFT Education

With a desire to invest, must come a place to learn how to do so responsibly. We’re pairing our Alpha Group with a special space for NFT education which we feel is essential to the growth of our community, but also the industry. This area will be a repository for newer investors without the necessary information or background to read, understand, and ask questions from our experienced members.

3. The Vision

It’s important to us, and in turn our community, that we continue to be pioneers in what we do. We want to be the most successful NFT project with the focus of reducing the gap in education around the world, starting with another 5 schools this year already. We want our holders to share in the profits of our endeavours, but at the same time know that they are helping make the world a better place by also investing in its future: the children.

We’ve had an incredible journey with charity beneficiaries and friends buildOn after funding two schools amounting to a total of $70,000, and we’re excited to share more about our upcoming plans. We share the buildOn vision of breaking the cycle of poverty, illiteracy, and low expectations around the world, and we will continue working closely with them to make a difference for those who need it.

We’re also incredibly excited to announce that the two schools KBA holders have helped fund did break ground in March 2022 and will be finished this summer:

Yaoska-Las Victorias, Nicaragua, 28th March.

‘’With the next nearest proper school a 5 km walk over mountainous terrain, the community members of Yaoska-Las Victorias are beyond happy with a new proper school funded by the Kindergarten BabyApes. The community leaders and buildOn staff members will also be working together closely to increase the number of students, especially girls, enrolled in this school.’’

Sector Tojmax, Guatemala, 30th March.

Guatemala’s small villages and remote communities such as Sector Tojmax often lack access to quality school structures and classrooms, and a disproportionately large number of those living in poverty are women. Through our beneficiary, buildOn will be able to provide the village of Sector Tojmax with a proper school block and latrines. Community leaders and buildOn staff members will also be working together closely to increase the number of students, especially girls, enrolled in this school.

Community

We want to ensure that community is at the forefront of our vision for the future of Kindergarten BabyApes, before anything else. We believe that connections, people, and the support others is something that must underpin everything else in our coming months and years. Community is an overplayed utility that is often never delivered effectively, but we’re proud to say that we are home to one of the best communities in the NFT space, and we will continue to grow that same closeness for others to experience.

Innovation

We want to do things differently; break the mould; champion new ideas and pioneer new frontiers that allow us to combine the NFT boom with the humble cause of helping others obtain education which they are entitled to. Beyond that, it’s important that in everything we do, whether it be in community management, our marketing, or building utility, we are innovating and staying ahead of the curve, not cruising alongside or falling behind it. To do that, we feel it’s important that we bridge the gap with the outside world — beyond NFTs — to ensure that our work is realised, whether that be in partnerships with brands and organisations who understand and support our vision, or in ventures that allow us to benefit children by exploring KBA books, toys, education grants, and more.

Roadmap 1.0 was an amazing success, and we’re grateful to everyone in the community who helped us get there. By way of a quick review, we completed Roadmap 1.0 in 2 weeks:

Roadmap 2.0

As for 2.0, we have a number of special things planned — have a look:

- As mentioned already, we already own a plot in the Sandbox and we’re working towards building all the amazing experiences that come with it. Everything will be accessible to our KBA holders.

- You will own IPs and full commercial rights to your KBAs, and we’re giving you high-resolution KBAs with a transparent background so you can get creative and use your NFTs in whatever way you like, whether that be in print, merch, digital banners etc.

- We built 2 schools — 5 more in the works!

- The KIBS collection is set to release in early Q2 this year and more information on that will be available along with sneak peeks once we have everything ready.

- Despite the pandemic and difficulties of traveling we are aiming to bring up to 15 of our holders to visit a school that the project has built to give you guys an experience of meeting the students, locals, teachers and even helping with building the school from scratch.

5. The Team

OBI

OBI has 10 years of experience in leadership and communication. He also has been working with different aid organizations/churches focusing on helping poor suburban areas globally — both in Europe (Sweden, Romania & Scotland) but also in Africa (Uganda). Project wise he is leading the main conversations and focusing on bringing all parts of the project together.

Apeyard

Apeyard is a developer / creative with 10 years experience in graphic design, marketing automation, and development. His experience ranges within consultancy, startups and enterprise companies. His coding expertise focuses on frontend (HTML, CSS, JS, React) and backend (Python, SQL, Solidity, APIs). Apeyard is an illustrator and also created the initial KBA collection. Sarasylum

Sarasylum is a 15 year military veteran with extensive supervision and management experience. He works with all staff members to coordinate all aspects of project development and day to day tasks within the community to ensure they meet the high standards and needs of the project.

MISS

Miss has over 20 years of experience in the sales industry, and she has been a key member of the KBA community from its inception. Her role as the KBA community manager is to be the liaison and spokesperson between the community and KBA staff members but also ensuring the community as a safe and friendly environment.
